About Sarah C Hutton

Sarah Hutton is the Head of Student Success & Engagement at the W. E. B. Bu Bois Library, and a doctoral candidate in the College of Education in the Educational Policy, Research, and Administration (EPRA) program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her department includes the Learning Commons to support undergraduate student learning and the Digital Media Lab for student multimedia project and digital scholarship creation. Sarah also closely collaborates with first-year programs, such as the Commonwealth Honors College and the Writing Program, working to integrate information, media and visual literacies into the curriculum. Her research interests include: open education (OER/OEP), highlighting marginalized voices in scholarship, informal learning spaces (physical and digital), student engagement, student retention, problem-based learning, makerspaces, and playful learning.
