Negusse Fessehaye Kidane

Assistant Professor/Research Scientist of Animal Sciences

Disciplines

  • Animal Sciences

Research Interests

  • My current research interest includes improving feed utilization efficiency of goats, determining residual feed intakes (RFI) of different breeds of goats, evaluating novel freed biomass as livestock feed ingredients,
  • reducing environmental hoofprint of livestock by reducing methane emissions, monitoring the diet quality of free-grazing herbivores using NIRS technology, monitoring feed intake and feeding behavior using GrowSafe Computerized Feeding System.

Adela Mora-Gutierrez

Research Scientist

Disciplines

  • Medicine and Health Sciences

Research Interests

  • Structure-functionality relationships in foods with emphasis on food proteins, polysaccharides and lipid complexes. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of protein-water interactions. Molecular models of proteins in highly hydrated forms. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy of proteins. Nanoscale production systems and technologies for the optimum delivery of lipophilic bioactive compounds such as lutein, resveratrol, docosahexaenoic (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
