About Addo Kwaku

Dr. Kwaku Addo currently serves as Associate Dean for Academic Programs and a member of the Executive Leadership Team in the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas, USA. He is also a Full Professor in the Human Nutrition and Foods Program. In addition to his administrative role in the college, Dr. Addo advises and teaches several undergraduate classes each year and conducts research in the development of new value-added food products.  He has led or co-led educational abroad programs in sustainable agriculture and land resource economics since 2005. Dr. Addo has published extensively in peer-reviewed research journals and has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including, The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel - which is the highest honor awarded by the Governor of the State of Kentucky in the USA, for his work in International Education while at the University of Kentucky. In 2015, he was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as a distinguished member. He is also the first recipient of the AACC International’s Isidore Hylanka research award in Food Rheology. 
Dr. Addo received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He later obtained his master’s degree in Biochemistry and Bacteriology from the University of Idaho. His doctorate in Food Science and Human Nutrition is from Washington State University.
