About Raouth Kostandy

My name is Raouth R. Kostandy; I'm an Assistant Professor at The Cleveland State University, School of Nursing. I teach Nursing Research for graduate, undergraduate, and RN-BSN students. Also Pediatric Nursing for undergraduate. My research focus is on the effect of Kangaroo Care, also known as Skin-to-Skin contact on managing procedural pain during neonatal period in healthy full term neonates. My research work has been presented nationally (Advanced practice of Neonatal Nurses conference, National Association of Neonatal Nurses conference) and internationally (6th and 7th International Workshop for of the International Network of Kangaroo Care, Sigma Theta Tau International's 21st International Nursing Research Congress) and has been published in Pain Management Nursing Journal and Neonatal Network.

I'm an RN and a Certified Kangaroo Care giver. Prior to joining Cleveland State University, I was an assistant Professor at The University of Akron. I also worked on a NIH funded project at Case Western Reserve University. I graduated with BSN and MSN from Assuit University, Egypt and PhD from Case Western Reserve University, USA.
