About Mark E. Hemric

Dr. Hemric earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from East Carolina University School of Medicine. He completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and did collaborative research at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Hemric’s research background includes purification, expression, and regulation of muscle and non-muscle contractile proteins and cardiovascular disease due to autoimmunity.
Dr. Hemric comes to LUCOM with 19 years of teaching experience at Oklahoma Baptist University, Lander University, and Liberty University. He has taught a broad variety of courses including general, organic, and biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, physiology and immunology.
Dr. Hemric credits his four children; Brett, Kenan, Danae, and Marlee, as well as Jessie (daughter-in-law), as a real joy in his life. Outside of the office, he enjoys working with the youth in his church, traveling, playing sports, and officiating soccer.
