About Joyce Yukawa, PhD

Joyce Yukawa is the Program Director and Associate Professor in the MLIS Program of St. Catherine University. She has taught introduction to LIS, reference and information services, research methods, internet fundamentals and design, information literacy instruction, social networking technologies, human information behavior, web usability/accessibility, and older adults and the web. Her teaching, research, presentations, and service draw upon interests in the blending of face-to-face and online interaction in librarianship and professional development, with a particular focus on social learning and service learning within communities of practice. She has had experience as a librarian in academic, public, and special libraries in the U.S. and Asia. She received her Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawai'i.
