About Jan Mutchler

Professor Jan Mutchler is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (Behavioral and Social Sciences Section) and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Aging & Social Policy and Research on Aging. Professor Mutchler currently serves as co-principal investigator on a grant  (“Developing a Resiliency Program for Medical Interpreters in Cancer Care”) funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute, part of the UMass Boston/Dana Farber Harvard Cancer Center U54 Partnership. She is also co-principal investigator for the National Elder Economic Security Standard Index, a measure of economic security developed at the Gerontology Institute in collaboration with Wider Opportunities for Women. The Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging, which she directs, conducts applied research on aging topics, with special expertise in community needs assessments and evaluation research.
