About Gabriel Delgado

Gabriel is a senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, originally from Beecher, Illinois, and uses he/him pronouns. He strives to improve the quality of life and combat global issues, such as climate change, through Bioengineering and Computer Science. As a co-founder of the IMSA SACNAS chapter, Med4Minorities, and the Immigration Reform Committee, he looks forward to continuing to pioneer a more resourceful future for minority communities by providing the next generation of students of color with quality education and inclusive classroom environments to further their education without external biases. As a student intern at the Midwest Allergy Sinus Asthma Service Corporation, Gabe has conducted a case-control study to identify the status of vitamin D in children with PANS. Surrounding his discoveries, Gabe has published his paper in abstract form in the February 2022 online supplement of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
