About Elena E. Karpova

With an innovative and meticulous approach to teaching, Elena Karpova has already made a significant mark on both her students and the curriculum at Iowa State. Karpova has worked diligently to improve her instruction since arriving at Iowa State in 2005, adapting from the traditional, lecture-driven environment of her native Russian educational system to the more active, student-centered American classroom. This background has encouraged her to focus on preparing global citizens who can effectively communicate across cultural and national boundaries.
