About Carole Steketee


Carole is the Director of the Learning and Teaching Office (LTO) in The University of Notre Dame Australia, as well as the Associate Head of the Fremantle campus. In heading up the LTO she provides strategic leadership in supporting academic staff continue to provide rich learning experiences to students. Between 2007 and 2015, Carole was the Associate Dean Teaching and Learning in the School of Medicine Fremantle where she was Director of the Medical Education Support Unit. In this position, Carole led the development of Prudentia, a dynamic web-based curriculum management system that is underpinned by an outcomes-based curriculum framework. This system is transforming how staff in the School of Medicine interact with and manage curriculum. She chairs the University Academic Council, is the immediate past chair of the Learning and Teaching Committee and the Honorary Secretary for the Committee of Management for the Australian and New Zealand Association of Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE). Carole is an accredited transformational leadership facilitator (2015) and has won a range of prizes including, the Advanced Leadership Program Scholarship (2016), the Aspire Professional Development Scholarship (2010), the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award (2005), and the World Fellowship Prize for academic excellence (1997). Carole is currently collaborating on a number of national OLT funded projects, the most recent being in relation to work integrated learning and inter-professional health education.
