About Adam W. Tyma

Dr. Adam W. Tyma joined the School of Communication at University of Nebraska Omaha in 2008. Dr. Tyma received a Ph.D. from North Dakota State University in Communication and his M.A. from the University of Minnesota in Communication Studies with an emphasis on media studies and rhetorical studies. He earned his B.S.-Teaching in Speech Communication from Minnesota State University – Mankato.
Dr. Tyma is on the editorial board of two journals, Communication Teacher and Communication Studies. His research interests include critical and cultural theory/studies, computer-mediated communication, visual culture and communication, media studies, communication education, higher education pedagogy, popular culture, and critical rhetoric.
