About Shannon Karl

Shannon Karl, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling at NSU's College of Psychology. Her research endeavors coalesce in the areas of spirituality and counseling, diagnosis and treatment, and counseling student clinical performance. As co-author of the DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors, Dr. Karl’s current research pursuits focus on efficacious diagnostic assessment. Dr. Karl advocates for the infusion of spirituality into clinical service delivery across settings and is a Past-President of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling.
