About Rebecca Davis (Emerita)

Rebecca Davis is an Associate Professor Emerita of Criminal Justice & Criminology She has taught a this subject since 1994. She holds an M.A. from Georgia Southern University and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. Davis is the founding and current director of Georgia Southern University’s Office of Pre-Law Advising.

Davis’ scholarship focuses on judicial biography and Fourth Amendment issues. Her latest biography, Justice Leah Ward Sears: Seizing Serendipity, was published in September 2017 by the University of Georgia Press. Davis co-authored the biography Judge Faye Sanders Martin: Head Full of Sense, Heart Full of Gold(Mercer University Press) and has published articles in the Georgia Historical QuarterlyThe Justice ProfessionalPolicing: an International Journal of Police Strategies & Management, and the Georgia State Bar Journal.
