About Randall E. Stross

Randall Stross is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Management at San Jose State University. He received his Ph.D. in History in 1982 from Stanford University, and has written extensively about technology businesses and Silicon Valley. He was the Digital Domain columnist for the New York Times from 2004-2013 and has also published in Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, the New Republic, and U.S. News & World Report. He is the author of several business books, including The Launch Pad: Inside Y Combinator, Silicon Valley’s Most Exclusive School for Startups; Steve Jobs and the NeXT Big Thing; Planet Google: One Company’s Audacious Plan to Organize Everything We Know; and eBoys: The First Inside Account of Venture Capitalists at Work. In 1998, he was selected as San Jose State University’s President’s Scholar.
