About Ramy El-Ganainy

Professor El-Ganainy received his PhD in 2009 from the College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL) at the University of Central Florida for his thesis work on nonlinear optical properties of nano-suspensions. From 2009 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Physics Department at the University of Toronto. In 2013 he was a guest scientist in the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems.
In 2014, he joined the Department of Physics at Michigan Technological University as an assistant professor of complex light wave dynamics.
His research interests spans a wide range of topics ranging from nonlinear optics and non-Hermitian photonics to QED effects inside photonic structures.
