About Nezih Altay

Dr. Altay is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Driehaus College of Business of DePaul University. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, MBA from University of Texas-Pan American and PhD from Texas A&M University. Before moving to Chicago, Dr. Altay was an Assistant Professor at the University of Richmond.
Dr. Altay is an experienced and highly qualified teacher-scholar. He has been teaching all aspects of Supply Chain Management and Operations Management to Executives, MBAs and undergraduates. His research specializes in after-sale service operations, disruption management and humanitarian supply chains. He has published his research in leading academic journals and presented in national and international arenas. He also co-edited a book titled Service Parts Management: Demand Forecasting and Inventory Control that was published with Springer. He currently serves as the USA Regional Editor of the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Area Editor of International Journal of Services Sciences, and editorial board member of Service Business, Production & Inventory Management Journal, and the International Journal of Integrated Supply Management. He is currently the VP Awards for the College of Humanitarian Operations & Crisis Management, a special interest group within the Production & Operations Management Society. Dr. Altay is also a member of the Board of Advisors of the International Institute for Advanced Purchasing and Supply.
