About Nathaniel Lupton

Dr. Nathaniel C. Lupton is an Assistant Professor in the School of Global Innovation and Leadership at San Jose State University.

Dr. Lupton’s primary research interests are economic development and the internationalization of innovation.  He is interested in how multinationals integrate knowledge in geographically dispersed networks of subsidiaries in order to enhance the competency creating abilities of the MNC.  He is particularly interested in the increasing role of emerging market countries in the innovation process.  This work has taken him to China, India, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, as well as throughout Europe and North America.  He sees both business model and technological innovation as critical to the continued economic development of emerging markets, the competitiveness of the firm, and the betterment of global social conditions.
