About Michael W. Firmin, Ph.D.

Dr. Firmin served as a full-time psychology faculty member from 1988 until his untimely death in 2020. He served as Editor for the Journal of Ethnographic and Qualitative Research and directed three national research conferences:  Ethnographic and Qualitative Research Conference, the American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and the Conference on Academic Research in Education. Dr. Firmin published over 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented over 150 papers in national, juried research conferences. He had a part-time private practice in forensic and clinical psychology. Dr. Firmin was an award-winning classroom instructor and served as a peer-reviewer on accreditation site team visits for North Central Association’s Higher Learning Commission.
