About Maria Hilling

Maria Hilling, Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer, specializes in international tax law. She has a continuing interest in EU tax law, tax treaty law, comparative tax law and critical perspectives on tax law.
In her ongoing research project - General Anti-Avoidance Rules (GAAR): Why Tax Culture Matters - the focus is on the role of legal culture for the effectiveness of GAARs.
Hilling teaches basic and advanced level tax courses within the Master of Laws programme. She is also involved in the supervision of PhD students.
