About Dr Kristy Osborne (Vernon)

Dr Kristy Osborne is a Research Fellow in the Research and Assessment Division at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Kristy’s area of expertise is STEM education and assessment, particularly physics, mathematics and digital technologies. Kristy manages the Australian branch of the International Mathematical Modelling Challenge and has led several reviews of secondary STEM curriculum programs. Kristy has also worked on curriculum and assessment reviews for medical colleges, including medical physics, radiology, psychiatry and dentistry. She has worked on large-scale assessments including the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) and the National Assessment Program – Information and Communication Technology Literacy (NAP-ICTL). Before joining ACER, Dr Osborne was a Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology and was responsible for co-ordinating the undergraduate physics degree.
