About Kathryn Luet

Dr. Kathryn Luet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Education in the College of Education. She teaches a variety of courses related to English pedagogy and culturally-responsive pedagogy. Her research focuses on community engagement in urban schools and school reform, as well as various methods for preparing pre-service teachers. Her recent projects have focused on developing a mentoring program to support novice teachers and providing a support group for NJ educators interested in utilizing critical pedagogy. Dr. Luet has published articles in journals such as The School Community Journal, Urban Education, Educational Policy, and Educational Forum.

Dr. Luet received a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in Teaching Learning & Curriculum, an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania in Secondary Education, and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in English. Prior to coming to Rowan, Dr. Luet taught English at the middle and high school levels in Philadelphia, PA.
