My primary research focus is in autonomy supportive teaching/sport coaching, grounded in self-determination theory. I have investigated the use of autonomy support among physical education teachers, youth sport coaches, and university teaching assistants. In working with colleagues, I also have focused on studies related to concussion diagnostics, obesity bias, early sport specialization, burnout, and motives for physical activity.
