Haluk Demirkan is an innovation and analytics evangelist, maestro, data gig, recognized leader, experienced practitioner (~ 20 years), awarded consultant, accomplished scholar (~ 15 years), active applied researcher, cross-disciplinary teacher, effective mentor, invited speaker, productive author (150+ pubs) and professional student. He is a Milgard Endowed Professor, University of Washington Tacoma ‐ Milgard School of Business (tenured by the UW Board of Regents), and the Co-Founder & Board of Director of International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (http://www.issip.org/), a non-profit organization co-founded by IBM, Cisco & HP to promote human-centered “smart” services for value & outcome. His achievements brought him an ongoing international leadership and reputation in analytics, service innovation and digital transformation with service-oriented technology & management (e.g. big data, data lake, mobile/cloud/fog/ cognitive computing, internet-of-things, social media).

His doctorate is in Information Systems and Operations Management from University of Florida, and his research in analytics, digital & service innovation and service-oriented technology & management have included recent industry-sponsored research projects with IBM, American Express, Intel and Teradata. He has almost 20 years of professional work experience on maximizing the return on the companies’ resources by effectively implementing strategic data and analytic solutions for 40+ Fortune 500 companies.
