About Dr Eveline Gebhardt

Dr Eveline Gebhardt, PhD Melb, MA Psych UvA, Amsterdam, is Research Director, Isonchronous Assessments at the Australian Council for Educational Research.

Dr Gebhardt was a Principal Research Fellow and psychometrician at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) from 2002 to January 2019. For her PhD she developed a method for combining item response theory measurement models with latent path models. Dr Gebhardt has extensive experience in developing procedures for and conducting and leading all aspects of data management and analysis of both cognitive and questionnaire data for national and international surveys, including OECD’s Project for International Student Assessment, IEA’s International Computer and Information Literacy Study, the Zimbabwe Early Learning Assessment, UNICEF’s Early Childhood Care and Development Tracer Study in the Philippines, and other national assessments in Australia, United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan. Her current role involves training, supervising and coordinating research staff and reporting and presenting research methods and results to diverse audiences. She has provided internal and external workshops on psychometric analysis using IRT and on secondary analysis for reporting, including multi-level modelling. In addition, Dr Gebhardt has been active in the development of context questionnaires, has developed procedures to calculate school and student weights and has good understanding of sampling methodology.
