About Eileen Razzari Elrod

Dr. Elrod is a Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies, currently serving as Associate Provost for Faculty Development. Her scholarly interests focus on religion, race and gender in early American literature, with a particular focus on contested notions of American identity and autobiographical writing. A dedicated teacher (honored with the Brutocao Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007), Eileen has been a member of the SCU faculty since 1992, with leadership experience that includes serving on the College of Arts and Sciences Rank and Tenure Committee, chairing Faculty Affairs, facilitating the Ignatian Faculty Forum, co-chairing the Women Faculty Group, designing and developing curriculum for the first iteration of the LEAD program, serving as English Department Associate Chair and as a member of the Women's and Gender Studies Program Council. She shares three perfect, mostly grown offspring with her favorite higher education colleague, Roger Razzari Elrod (San Francisco State University).
