Ed Guerrant worked from 1989 to 2011 as the conservation director and seedbank curator at the Berry Botanic Garden, which is a founding participating institution of the Center for Plant Conservation. He oversaw the operation of the garden's seedbank for rare and endangered plants and conducted research into seed germination and reintroduction projects, usually in cooperation with federal and state land management agencies. He, the seedbank, and conversation program moved to the Department of Environmental Science and Management at Portland State University in 2011.
