About Christopher Y. Tuan

Dr. Christopher Y. Tuan is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Director of the Peter Kiewit Institute Structural Research Laboratory. Prior to joining UNL and PKI, Dr. Tuan served as a consulting engineer for the Department of Defense. Dr. Tuan received his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Civil & Environmental Engineering (Structures). He also received M.S. degrees in Engineering Mechanics and Civil Environmental Engineering (Structures) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University. Dr. Tuan’s research interests include specialized concrete, structural dynamics, blast-resistant design, and finite element modeling.
