About Amrit Kirpalani

Dr. Amrit Kirpalani is a nephrologist at the Children's Hospital (LHSC) with two main branches of research: medical education, and clinical investigations of kidney diseases and disorders.

Dr. Kirpalani joined the Department of Paediatrics at Western University in 2020. He obtained is B.Sc. in Pharmacology from McGill University, and completed his M.D. degree and Paediatrics Residency training at Western University. Upon completing his residency, he went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Paediatric Nephrology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where he was the Chief Fellow.  

Dr. Kirpalani has a broad clinical practise in nephrology, with particular interests in complement-mediated kidney diseases, and adolescent chronic kidney disease care.  His research is primarily focused on undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, with a specific interest in mixed-methods research, instructional strategies, and mobile/virtual teaching tools. He is currently completing a Master of Education degree through Johns Hopkins University
