About Ye Cai

Ye Cai joined the Finance faculty as an assistant professor in Fall 2010. She currently teaches “Financial Management” and “Corporate Financial Policy”. Her teaching interests include corporate finance, financial institutions, and investments. Before joining Santa Clara University, she has served as an instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her scholarship includes work in empirical corporate finance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, board networks, corporate social responsibility, and venture capital. Her work has been published in several finance, accounting, and economics journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Accounting Studies, the Journal of Business Ethics, and Econometric Theory.
She received her BA in Economics from Peking University, and her MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University. She earned her PhD in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
