About Veliota Drakopoulou

Dr. Veliota Dradkopoulou is an Adjunct Faculty member of Embry-Riddle's Worldwide Online program. She has been active in researching the controversy of earnings volatility and earning smoothing in financial statements surrounded by the inability of FASB Statement No. 133 and FASB Statement No. 159 to portray the economics of hedging. As a Quality Matters Certified Instructional Designer, she reviews, revises, and drives the continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction.
Dr. Drakopoulou received her Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences program with concentration in Accounting/Finance from Walden University, an MBA from New York Institute of Technology and a B.S. from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She is also a member of the Financial Executives International.
When she's not teaching, she serves in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
