Valerie G. Starratt, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at NSU's College of Psychology. She is an evolutionary psychologist with broad interests in human mating and sexual conflict, from mate value, mate guarding, and infidelity to intimate partner violence, sexual coercion, and rape.

Her research also explores individual differences as facultative calibrations of human evolved psychology resulting in conditional behavioral strategies. Additionally, given the inherent importance of both biological and psychosocial/environmental factors in developing a comprehensive understanding of evolved human behavior, Dr. Starratt's research incorporates a combination of basic biometric, psychometric, and behavioral assessments.
