About Tiffany J. Davis, PhD

Dr. Tiffany J. Davis (she/her) is a higher education leader and scholar whose work endorses culture(s) of respect, inclusion, and justice wherein students, staff, and faculty can thrive, and offers practical applications for educational leaders and administrators to assist in cultural transformation. She is clinical assistant professor of higher education and program director for higher education (MEd/PhD) programs at the University of Houston.
 
Dr. Davis’ background includes nearly 20 years of leadership experiences spanning academic and student affairs, including administration, supervision, program development, and advising. Her scholarship addresses two major strands: (1) issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion within postsecondary contexts and (2) socialization and professional pathways for the higher education profession. Through these lenses, she has been able to explore a range of topics including supervision, intercollegiate athletics, self-care, and minoritized faculty’s experiences within the academy. Dr. Davis’ work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals including Advances in Developing Human Resources and Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice and academic books such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity in Contemporary Higher Education and Contested issues in Troubled times: Dialogues about Equity, Civility, and Safety.
 
Throughout her career, Dr. Davis has remained active in professional associations, namely NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, ACPA – College Student Educators International, and ASHE – Association for the Study of Higher Education. More recently, Dr. Davis received the Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award from the University of Houston's Women and Gender Resource Center recognizing her as a dedicated teacher, coach, and mentor, committed to supporting and fostering the success of women and Women of Color.  
 
Alongside her work in the academy, Dr. Davis is also the founder of TJD & Associates, LLC, which provides training, consultation, and speaking services to educational, non-profit, and business organizations. Dr. Davis holds degrees and certifications from the University of Tennessee, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Georgia.
