About Terry Barnhart (1952-2020)
Terry A. Barnhart taught in the department of History at EIU. He joined the history faculty in the fall of 1994, having previously worked at the Ohio Historical Society as a research associate, associate curator, and director of special projects from 1983 to 1994. He taught in both the history department's M.A. in Historical Administration program and the M.A. in History program, and at various times during his tenure served as coordinator and interim coordinator of the Historical Administration program. His research interests centered around the history of American archaeology, museums, American state and local history, and the sphere of public or applied history. He served as an active member of the American Association of for State and Local History and the National Council on Public History.
