About Taisha Trotman, COTA/L, MS

Professor Trotman is a licensed OTA with a passion for mentorship and professional growth! Over the years, she has honed her skills at cultural competence, diversity/bias recognition, and conflict resolution. She's been an OTA educator for 11+ years, and has a clinical background centered on patient care, management/HR duties/Quality Assurance & Control. She has a track record of being an essential part of the university’s management team and instrumental in providing effective solutions that produce immediate impact and contribute to student long-term success.

Here's a little about her....she's been a licensed occupational therapy assistant for 17 years and has enjoyed working in various settings.  She's had the privilege to previously act as both a rehab director and most recently the program director of an accredited OTA program.  While she's currently the faculty advisor for a part of the State of California, she resides in Orlando, FL.  Her strongest areas of past experience include geriatrics, orthopedics, cardiac, rehab management, billing/reimbursement appeals, and OTA education.  She was attracted to the mission and vision at St. Kate's, as well as the deep-rooted dedication of the OTA faculty to the success of their students.

On a personal note, she enjoys all things Disney (hey, she lives in Orlando...), great documentaries, and of course - the beach!  She's also an Army wife, has two wonderful children, and two Yorkies (who are wonderful most of the time).

Professor Trotman is very much looking forward to continuing her work in the OTA online program, as well as pursing areas of interest.
