About Taisha Trotman

I am a licensed OTA with a passion for mentorship and professional growth! Over the years, I have honed my skills at cultural competence, diversity/bias recognition, and conflict resolution. I've been an OTA educator for 8+ years, and have a clinical background centered on patient care, management/HR duties/Quality Assurance & Control. I have a track record of being an essential part of the university’s management team and instrumental in providing effective solutions that produce immediate impact and contribute to student long-term success.

Here's a little about me....I've been a licensed occupational therapy assistant for 13 years and have enjoyed working in various settings.  I've had the privilege to previously act as both a rehab director and most recently the director of an accredited OTA program.  While I am the faculty advisor for a part of the State of California, I reside in Orlando, FL.  My strongest areas of past experience include geriatrics, orthopedics, cardiac, rehab management, billing/reimbursement appeals, and OTA education.  I was attracted to the mission and vision at St. Kate's, as well as the deep-rooted dedication of the OTA faculty to the success of our students.
On a personal note, I enjoy all things Disney (hey, I live in Orlando...), great documentaries, and of course - the beach!  I am an Army wife, have two wonderful children, and two Yorkies (who are wonderful most of the time).

I am very much looking forward to continuing my work in the OTA online program, as well as pursing areas of interest.
