Dr. Susan Meakin is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Western University, and an associate scientist at the Children's Health Research Institute (CHRI).

The Meakin lab examines the intracellular signalling pathways of the Trk family of receptor tyrosine kinases and their roles in the nervous system. Such research provides insight into not only normal neuronal development and brain function, such as learning and memory, but also brain abnormalities, such as cancer and learning disorders. Techniques used include molecular, genetic, and cell biology tools, such as cell culture, animal models, and confocal microscopy.
