About Steven E. Miskinis

Professor Steven Miskinis is an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing. Prior to coming to William and Mary Law School, he taught legal writing at Penn State Law. Before that, Professor Miskinis was a trial attorney with the Department of Justice in the Indian Resources Section of the Environment and Natural Resources Division. His work involved litigation in which the United States is either defending or promoting the interests and rights of federally recognized Tribes. Professor Miskinis graduated from Duke Law School magna cum laude in 2000 and clerked for the Honorable Rosemary Pooler on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Before attending law school, he earned a Ph.D. in English at Vanderbilt in 1994 and published articles on Samuel Beckett and Wallace Stevens.
