About Siew Chan

I conduct behavioral research in accounting and information systems. My research interests include decision support systems, human-computer interaction, auditor fraud risk assessments, cultural issues in auditor-client negotiation, jurors’ responsibility attribution, hacking behavior, etc.

My primary goal is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career in accounting. I focus on the importance of core competencies and skills that firms look for in a job candidate. In addition, I emphasize the theoretical and practical aspects of accounting in my teaching. I encourage my students to engage in critical thinking and reasoning, and enhance their ability to integrate and apply the materials in various business and practical contexts.
