About Shehla Zaidi

Dr. Shehla Zaidi is Director of the M.Sc Program in Health Policy & Management at Aga Khan University Karachi and joint faculty with the Division of Women & Child Health and Department of Community Health Sciences. She has 22 years of experience comprising academic leadership, research, technical assistance and capacity building for Health and Nutrition, with a particular focus on Pakistan and EMR. 
 
Areas of work include policy analysis, governance, public-private partnerships, decentralization, and service delivery innovations applied to Nutrition, MNCH, Routine Immunization, HIV and Non Communicable Diseases. She has also led a public private partnership project on integrated health, education, and sustainable livelihood scheme in rural disadvantaged areas.
 
Dr.Zaidi has worked on projects funded by the DFID, World Bank, European Commission, USAID and WHO, and is a regional trainer with WHO-EMRO on capacity building of Ministries of Health. She technically led the development of the PHC Revival Plan for WHO-EMRO, the National Health Vision for Federal Health Ministry Pakistan, and the Post Devolution Health Sector Strategy and Costed Implementation Plan for provincial government of Sindh. She is a member of different advisory committees and international academic associations.
