About Shawn McNamara

Shawn McNamara, DAT, ATC is Clinical Assistant Professor of Athletic Training at Sacred Heart University. Shawn is a New York State licensed athletic trainer who specializes in teaching of extremity evaluation, clinical education, rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities and research methods. He has experience in the management and facilitation of sports medicine services for collegiate athletics. Prior to SHU, Shawn was head athletic trainer at LIU Post University and serves as clinical education coordinator and Interim Program Director at LIU Brooklyn University. Shawn has also served as a preceptor for LIU Brooklyn and Hofstra athletic training students. He has a doctorate in athletic training from Temple University.
