About Shane Patman

Associate Professor Shane Patman is currently the Associate Dean and coordinator of cardiorespiratory studies for the Physiotherapy program at The University of Notre Dame Australia. He completed his original physiotherapy degree in Sydney and subsequently undertook his research Masters’ (Manual Hyperinflation: Consistency of the technique and the effect on Respiratory Parameters) & PhD (The effect of physiotherapy on the prevention and treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia for intensive care patients with acquired brain injury) at Curtin University of Technology in Perth. Shane's current research interests span primarily across critical care and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, as well as professional issues such as workforce, service provision and standards.
