About Scott H. Hochwald

I came to the University of North Florida along with the first freshman class in 1984. I taught just about every undergraduate mathematics course and many graduate mathematics courses since my arrival. My early research focused on Operator Theory and Linear Algebra. My later and current research is centered around mathematics arising from the Harmonic Series. My service activities include serving on University and Department committees, administering and composing mathematics competitions, and serving as in a variety of officer roles for the Mathematical Association of America at both the state and national level. I have chaired the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of North Florida since July 2001.
