About Sarah Valley-Gray

Sarah Valley-Gray, Psy.D., ABPP, is a professor, and the director of the doctoral program in school psychology in the College of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She is a licensed psychologist, a certified school psychologist, and holds board certification in school psychology. Dr. Valley-Gray led the development of both the specialist and the doctoral programs in school psychology at NSU.

Dr. Valley-Gray has served on the executive board of the Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP) since 2000, where she has held a variety of positions, including serving as chair of the Training and Credentialing Committee for over ten years. As chair of Training and Credentialing, she spearheaded the standardized internship application and selection process across the state. She has also served in leadership within school psychology at the national level. Dr. Valley-Gray was elected Florida Delegate to the Delegate Assembly of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) for two consecutive terms and served a three-year term as Secretary of the organization. She is a past-president of the American Academy of School Psychology (AASP). Moreover, she is a past-president of the Trainers of School Psychologists (TSP) and previously served as secretary of the association.

Dr. Valley-Gray is passionate about training issues in psychology. She is the Director of Continuing Education and Special Projects at NSU and focuses her research on the use of standardized patients to prepare beginning psychologists for practice. Other areas of research include graduate education in school psychology, supervision, and the evaluation of competencies in the curriculum of school psychology programs.
