About Sarah C. Slinger

Sarah Slinger joined the FIU College of Law in 2021. Previously, she was Reference & Instructional Services Librarian/Lecturer in Law at the University of Miami Law Library. She also served as a Reference Librarian at the University of Michigan Law School and as a Cracchiolo Library Fellow at The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. She holds a J.D. from Delaware Law School, an M.L.I.S. from The University of Arizona, and a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Spanish, magna cum laude, from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in Law Librarianship from The University of Arizona. While in law school, she clerked for Judge Paul P. Panepinto of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas-Civil Division and was the recipient of the Bruce & Elizabeth Monroe Intellectual Property Award.

She teaches Advanced Legal Research and various subject-specific research courses. Her scholarship focuses on environmental constitutionalism, intellectual property, and the empirical study of law librarianship.
She is a recipient of the American Association of Law Libraries/Lexis Nexis Call for Papers Award for her paper on the unionization of academic law libraries. She is also a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, the Pennsylvania Bar (active license), and the District of Columbia Bar (inactive).
