Associate Dean for Marketing and Graduate Programs and Research
Dr. Russ Laczniak joined the faculty at Iowa State University in 1987 where he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Promotion Management, and Marketing Principles. His primary research interests deal with marketing communication. Dr. Laczniak’s research has been published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Business Research, Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Marketing Communications, Marketing Letters, and various conference proceedings. He has received distinguished research awards from the Journal of Advertising, American Marketing Association, and Southwestern Marketing Association. Dr. Laczniak received the “Faculty Citation” from the Iowa State University Alumni Association in 1999. In addition, Dr. Laczniak received the Iowa State University College of Business “Business Impact Award” in 1997, “Excellence in Research Award” in 2000 and “Senior Faculty Teaching Award” in 2009. He currently serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, and the senior editorial board of the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. Dr. Laczniak previously served as Editor for the Journal of Advertising (2003-2006) and was President (2001) and Treasurer (1999-2000) for the American Academy of Advertising. He received his Ph.D. from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, M.B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison and B.S. from Marquette University.
