About Roger Weaver

As the Director of Library Operations and Scholarly Communications at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, I currently oversee technical services, access services and building operations. I manage a staff of 9 full time professionals and a variable number of student employees. Additionally, I coordinate directly with the Dean of the Library regarding strategic planning, assessment, and budget management.

As the Director of Scholarly Communications, I provide leadership, management, planning, and program development for the scholarly communications services provided through the library. This includes outreach and advocacy for open access publishing, open data, and open educational resources. I provide copyright and data management planning guidance to both faculty and students as well as offer workshops and lectures on a variety of topics. I also work directly with our librarians in providing research assistance, program development and educational support for our students and faculty.
