About Roddran Grimes

I am Associate Professor of Special Education at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. I previously served as an Assistant Professor of Elementary and Special Education at  Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. Prior to that, I was a middle school special education teacher for seven years and it was a privilege to work with children. Over the course of my public school teaching career I taught all five academic subjects (Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies, Math, and Science) and I stay in touch with many of my former students.  Before becoming a teacher I worked in the healthcare information technology (IT) field for 10 years as a project manager, business analyst, and trainer.  I’ve lived in Germany and enjoy experiencing the cultures of the world firsthand. In my free time I enjoy cycling, golf, knitting, attending science fiction and fantasy conventions (e.g., Dragon Con), honoring the legacy of feminine goddesses (e.g., Lena Horne, Dorothy Dandridge, and Eartha Kitt), and Latin dancing (specifically salsa, bachata, cha cha, and merengue). I also won a spot in People Magazine’s Natural Beauty Search and was featured in their May 2, 2016 issue.
