Born and raised in the vibrant Rio Grande Valley, Rina has dedicated her career to fostering progress and growth in Hidalgo County communities and beyond. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in public Affairs, both earned at the esteemed Rio Grande Valley University in Edinburg, TX. Her academic journey laid the foundation for her future endeavors, equipping her with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the intricate landscape of economic development.
 Prior to her current role as a Community & Economic Development agent in Prairie View A&M University Extension, Rina served as an Economic Development Director and owner of her local newspaper. Her newspaper became a driving force behind the promotion of progress and growth in Hidalgo County communities, showcasing Rina's commitment to effective communication and community engagement.
 
With 19 years of experience spanning various levels of government, nonprofit organizations, and higher education, Rina brings a wealth of expertise to her current position. At Prairie View A&M University Extension, she serves as a multi-county agent, focusing on communities in Hidalgo and Cameron County in the areas of small business, homeownership, and workforce development.
 
Beyond her professional achievements, Rina is driven by a deep-seated commitment to helping individuals upskill and reskill, fostering better economic security for families and communities.
