Professor of Sociology
Peter Meiksins is Director of the Honors Program and Professor of Sociology. He has been teaching at CSU since 1991. In addition to directing the Honors Program, he teaches classes on Race, Class and Gender, Sociological Theory, the Sociology of Work, and Science, Technology and Society. He is the author of several books and numerous articles on the sociology of work, most recently Changing Contours of Work, on which he collaborated with Prof. Stephen Sweet of Ithaca College. Originally from New York City, he has lived in Toronto, Boston, Rochester, NY and now Cleveland. He is married (to a historian) and has a daughter, who is studying Music at the University of Toronto.
