Peter Freund's scholarship encompasses three areas of activity: artistic production and exhibition; critical research, writing and presentations; and curatorial practice.

ACTIVE SCHOLARLY PROJECTS:

Lost Grids, a "conceptual machine" built from an artistic misuse of digital code, is utilized to produce various results ranging from prints and books to video installations and performance-based work. For more information, please visit Lost Grids.

Retracted Cinema is a program of algorithmic films curated by Peter Freund and will screen in September 2020 at XCèntric, Barcelona Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB), Spain. The publication of an article in which Freund conceptualizes the Retracted Cinema project is forthcoming in the experimental film journal, Found Footage Magazine.

The Art of Retraction, the forthcoming November 2020 issue of A*Desk: Journal of Critical Thinking in five installments including twenty contributions from artists and writers, was guest-edited/curated by Peter Freund.
